Two systems, side by side
Pythagorean
Letters run 1 to 9 in alphabet order: A=1 … I=9, J=1 … R=9, S=1 … Z=8. Simple and the most common in Western books.
Chaldean
Letters are valued 1 to 8 by sound, and 9 is never assigned. Many Indian numerologists prefer it for names and brands, and read the unreduced "compound" total.
What the numbers mean
- Expression — all letters; how a name presents to the world.
- Soul urge — vowels only; inner motivation.
- Personality — consonants only; first impressions.
- Compound — the total before reducing; some schools read compounds 10–52 individually.
Founders: a name that "adds up" is worthless if you can't own it. Check the domain, social handles and trademark register in your country before you print anything. Our brand-name report runs the numbers on your shortlist and flags obvious conflicts.
